詩在講「路要自己走」——選項有沒有「多寫」比有沒有「寫對」更關鍵

錯在哪裡
(A) 說這首詩在講 born（出生）、grew up（長大）、got married（結婚）、died（死亡）。
前兩個詩裡確實有，但後兩個沒有：
詩裡寫的是 fell in love（墜入愛河），不是結婚；
寫的是 One day I’ll go（有一天我會離開，指說話者自己），不是「你」死了。
選項只要多出一個沒有根據的元素，整個選項就是錯的。
更重要的是：(A) 就算完全正確，它也只是在「描述內容」，沒有回答「這首詩想說什麼」。 主旨題要選的是「作者想傳達的意思」，不是「文章提到哪些事」。
正確解法
這首詩有一個非常明顯的結構——每一段都在同一個地方出現 But：

同一個句型重複四次，就是作者在敲黑板： 「別人給你愛與幫助，但真正走下去的是你自己。」
閱讀測驗的主旨題，先看標題再看選項，命中率極高。 這首詩的標題已經把答案寫出來了。
- ✗(A) Darcy got married 和 died 詩裡都沒有。 詩寫的是 fell in love（戀愛）和 One day I’ll go（說話者會離開）。 而且這只是在列內容，不是主旨。
- ✗(B) Demi 詩裡完全沒有學校、老師、學生、工作。 從 “When you were born, I held you near”（你出生時我抱著你）可知 說話者是父母，不是老師。
- ✗(C) David gray 在詩裡是「灰暗的日子」 （前一句是 days were hard and tears came fast， 後面接 found the light inside the gray ＝在灰暗中找到光）。 把 gray 解釋成「白頭髮」是望文生義。
- ✓(D) Dorothy 「人生的起起伏伏，只能靠自己走過去」—— 正好對應每一段的 But 句和標題 Your Own Way。
要記住的觀念
- 主旨題問的是「作者想說什麼」，不是「文章寫了哪些事」。 只在列舉內容的選項，通常都不是答案。
- 選項要逐字檢查，特別是被 and 串在一起的清單。 四個項目只要有一個文章沒提到，整個選項就死了。
- 重複出現的句型就是主旨。 這首詩四次用 But 做同一個轉折，答案一定在那個轉折上。
- 標題不要跳過。詩、文章、廣告的標題常常就是主旨的濃縮。
- 詩裡的顏色、天氣、季節通常是比喻： gray ＝低潮、light ＝希望、storm ＝困難、spring ＝新開始。 不要照字面翻。
延伸：這首詩的說話者是誰
從 “When you were born, I held you near”（你出生時我抱著你）、
“We gave you hugs, we gave you cheers”（我們給你擁抱與加油）、
“One day I’ll go. Please, please feel fine.”（有一天我會離開，請別難過）
可以判斷：說話者是父母，對象是自己的孩子。
判斷「誰在說話、對誰說」是讀詩的第一步。
這一步做完，(B) 說是老師對學生，就會自動被刪掉。
類題自我檢測
短文：Every seed needs the sun and the rain. But no one can grow for the seed.

(C)。關鍵同樣在 But 之後：「沒有人能替種子生長」。
(A)(D) 只是在講字面上的植物知識，沒有回答「作者想說什麼」；
(B) 文章根本沒提到農夫。
做法完全相同：找 But、找重複、看有沒有多寫。

當時選了 (A)，紅筆訂正為 (D)。
這題的固定動作：選項裡每出現一個名詞或動作，就回文章找一次；找不到就打叉。
「got married」在詩裡找不到，(A) 當場出局。
